In the not-so-distant past, there was a strong need for a multi-purpose wellness facility in Jamestown. In 2017, with the help of local supporters, Two Rivers Activity Center was able to open it’s doors and fulfill that need.
If you have not had the pleasure of visiting Two Rivers Activity Center (more commonly known as TRAC), it is safe to say you are missing out. TRAC is a beautiful, community recreation center designed for all ages. Owned and operated by Jamestown Parks and Recreation District, TRAC aims to make the community of Jamestown the best place to live and play by providing resources, programs, and opportunities that promote health and well-being.
The facilities are stunningly well run and maintained by their large staff of over 100 employees and they offer a variety of wellness programs and opportunities for all demographics. Fitness classes, leisure and structured sports activities, as well as personal and sports-specific training to name a few. They offer a variety of group fitness classes from cycling to Zumba to strength training, several of which I have the pleasure of instructing in my spare time.
They also boast an indoor aquatic center that features a three-lane lap pool, climbing wall, zero depth entry play area, waterslides, lazy river, spa, and more! And we can’t forget to mention the outdoor splash park that can be enjoyed in the warmer months.
On top of all of this, they are also offer several childcare and learning opportunities for kids including their Adventure Space, On TRAC Learning Center, and summer programs. The Adventure Space provides care for children ages 6 weeks and older while you use the facility and the On TRAC Learning Center is for preschool and school aged children.
Currently, TRAC is home to over 4,000 members, an astonishing amount for a community size of just under 16,000 in population. It is important to note that you do not have to be a member to utilize the facilities at TRAC. They offer daily rates as well as rental services for groups who would like to use certain spaces. So even if you do not live in Jamestown or aren’t ready to commit to a yearly membership, you can still experience this magnificent facility as you wish!
